Ratings: ABC Tops Night in Key Demo With ‘Once Upon a Time,’ ‘Secrets and Lies’ Finale

ABC came out the ratings king on Sunday night, drawing the best performance in the key 18-49 demographic with a combination of “Once Upon a Time” and season finale of “Secrets and Lies” (pictured above), which both shared the top ratings spot.

Meanwhile, CBS received most-watched honors thanks in part ot “Madam Secretary,” which had the night’s largest audience, according to preliminary numbers.

ABC scored first place in the key demo with a 1.5 rating/5 share, taking second place in total viewers with 5.5 million. The network’s night started with “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at 7 p.m., which posted a 1.4 rating/6 share and attracted 5.6 million total viewers. “Once Upon a Time” the following hour drew a 1.7/6 with 5.2 million total viewers, while the season finale of “Secrets and Lies” at 9 was even with last week in the demo for a 1.7/5 and rose 10 percent in total viewers for 6.4 million, making it the most-watched episode of the series.

The network’s night closed with “Revenge” at 10, which is set to end its four-year run next week. The penultimate episode jumped 20 percent from last week for a 1.2/4 and had 4.9 million total viewers.

Fox was second in the demo with a 1.2/4 and fourth in total viewers with 2.9 million. Following a repeat of “The Simpsons,” “Bob’s Burgers” at 7:30 posted a 1.0/4, up 11 percent from the previous week, with 2.2 million total viewers, a 12 percent boost. “The Simpsons” at 8 posted a 1.3/5, down 13 percent, with 3.1 million total viewers. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” at 8:30 took a 20 percent hit versus last week, drawing a 1.2/4 with 2.7 million total viewers. “Family Guy” drew even with a 1.6/5 and had 3.7 million total viewers, while the season finale of “The Last Man on Earth” drew even in the demo with a 1.4/4 and grew marginally in total viewers with 3.5 million.

CBS was third in the demo and first in total viewers with a 0.9/3 and 8.2 million, respectively. “60 Minutes” at 7 dropped 18 percent in the demo for a 0.9/4 and had 8.5 million total viewers, while the season finale of “Madam Secretary” the following hour drew even in the demo with a 1.0/3 and wa the night’s most-watched show with 9.7 million total viewers. “The Good Wife” at 9 was off 10 percent for a 0.9/3 with 8.3 million total viewers, while “Battle Creek” at 10 posted a 0.7/2 with 6.2 million total viewers.

NBC, which was fourth in the demo with a 0.8/3 and third in total viewers with 4.6 million, started the night with “Dateline” at 7, which fell 27 percent to a 0.8/3 with 4.9 million total viewers. “A.D.: The Bible Continues” at 9 held even for a 1.1/3 and had 5.5 million total viewers. “American Odyssey” at 10 was likewise steady, posting a 0.5/2 with 3.2 million total viewers.

Univision was fifth in total viewers with a 0.6/2 and 1.6 million, while sixth-place Telemundo had a 0.6/2 and 1.3 million total viewers.
