Ratings: ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Premiere Attracts Fewer Suitors Than Last Year

Sunday night wasn’t quite ratings heaven for “The Bachelor in Paradise,” as this summer’s premiere was down 21 percent in the key 18-49 demographic versus last year.

Still, ABC managed to tie CBS and “Big Brother” atop the main demo last night. CBS finished first in total viewers.

CBS and ABC tied for first in ratings, both with a 0.9 rating/3 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. CBS was first in total viewers with an average of 5.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. ABC was second in total viewers with 3.6 million.

For CBS, between reruns, “Big Brother” at 8 p.m. ET earned a 1.8/7 and 6.3 million viewers.

For ABC, the “Bachelor in Paradise” premiere at 8 p.m. received a 1.1/4 and 3.6 million viewers. A special “Save My Life: Boston” at 10 had a 0.8/3 and 3.2 million viewers.

NBC was third in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 3.2 million, airing only repeats.

Univision was fourth in ratings with a 0.7/3 and in viewers with 1.9 million.

Fox was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.5 million, airing just reruns.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 764,000.
