Ratings: ‘Gotham’ Finale Rises 13 Percent, But Fox Still Finishes Fourth

Fox needed a hero to compete on Monday night, but it didn’t quite get there.

“Gotham” ratings rose 13 percent with its Season 1 finale, but its home network still finished in fourth place when averaged down with “The Following.”

CBS was third overall, as the David Letterman retrospective special received 8.1 million total viewers. As per usual Monday results, NBC was first in the key ratings demo, while ABC topped total viewers.

NBC was first in ratings with a 2.0 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 8.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Voice” at 8 p.m. earned a 2.3/7 — a night-high — and 9.7 million viewers. “Night Shift” at 10 had a 1.3/4 and 5.6 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.7/6 and first in viewers with 11 million. “Dancing With the Stars” at 8 received a 1.9/6 and primetime-best 12.2 million viewers. “Castle” at 10 got a 1.4/4 and 8.4 million viewers.

CBS was third in ratings with a 1.5/5 and in viewers with 7.4 million. At 8, “2 Broke Girls” posted a 1.6/6 and 6.4 million viewers. At 8:30, “Mike & Molly” slipped to a 1.5/5 and 6.7 million viewers. Following a rerun, the network’s Letterman look-back at 9:30 had a 1.5/5 and 8.1 million viewers.

Fox was fourth in ratings with a 1.4/5 and in viewers with 4.1 million. At 8, “Gotham” rose to a 1.7/6 and 4.9 million viewers. “The Following” at 9 got a 1.1/3 and 3.3 million viewers.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.9/3 and in viewers with 2.6 million.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in viewers with 1.6 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.1 million. “The Originals” at 8 had a 0.5/2 and 1.1 million viewers. At 9, “Jane The Virgin” ticked up to a 0.5/1 and 1 million viewers.
