Ratings: NBC Tops Election Night

NBC topped Tuesday with its election night coverage in viewership and the adults 18-to-49 demographic.

Brian Williams & Co. averaged 12.6 million viewers and a 4.6 rating in the demo, up a tenth from 2008. ABC (11.15 million, 3.8) was second, but dipped seven-tenths. CBS (8.4 million, 2.7) was also up, while Fox (5 million, 2.0) was even.

Barack Obama re-elected as president of the United States

The Big Four networks averaged 37.1 million viewers and a 3.3, down from 2008's 38.1 million and 3.5.
