RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘Does Someone Have To Go’ Drops In Week 2, Delayed ‘Mike & Molly’ Finale Low

If there was any doubt whether American viewers were interested in watching people getting pink slipped, the answer is no. Last night’s second episode of Fox‘s new reality series Does Someone Have To Go drew a 1.0/3 in adults 18-49, down a steep 23% from last week’s unimpressive premiere. Fox still won the night in 18-49 with Hell’s Kitchen (2.0/7), down -9% from last week. It tied a repeat of CBSThe Big Bang Theory as the top program of the night in 18-49.

Big Bang was followed by the finale of Mike & Molly, which was rescheduled after the deadly Oklahoma tornado. Understandably, the move affected the ratings, with the closer drawing a 1.8/6, down -25% from the show’s last original two weeks ago to its series low. Still, CBS claimed the two highest-rated scripted shows for the night with Big Bang and Mike & Molly as well as the highest rated drama with a Person Of Interest repeat (1.3/4), which topped three original drama offerings last night. That included ABC’s Canadian imports Motive (1.2/4, down 8% from last week) and Rookie Blue (1.2/4, flat) and NBC’s Hannibal (1.0/3, flat), which didn’t get a bounce from the renewal announcement yesterday afternoon. NBC opened the night with back-to-back episodes of comedy Save Me, which logged a 0.7/3 at 8 PM, even with last week’s premiere, and a 0.6/2 at 8:30 PM, down 14%. Save Me aired against ABC’s Wipeout (1.1/4, down 8%).
