Ratings: Top-Rated 'The Voice' Gives NBC a Win (Update)

Though down slightly from last week, "The Voice" pushed NBC to a first-place tie with Fox in the key demographic on Tuesday night, while CBS took the crown in total viewers, according to preliminary numbers.

NBC tied for first in ratings with an average 2.3 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. It was third in total viewers with 6.7 million. "The Biggest Loser" saw a slight increase over last week, receiving a 2.2/7 in the demo and 6.9 million total viewers. "The Voice" the following hour inched down from last week with Tuesday's results show but still scored the biggest numbers in the demo with a 3.3/9 and 8.8 million total viewers. "Fashion Star" at 10, meanwhile, dropped 17 percent to a 1.5/4 in the demo, tying a low for the new-ish reality offering, and 4.4 million total viewers.

Fox tied NBC in the ratings but took fourth place in total viewers with an average 2.3/7 in the demo and 5.4 million. "Glee" at 8 was down 11 percent in the demo, receiving a 2.4/7 with 6.2 million total viewers. "New Girl" at 9 took a minor dip from last week with a 2.7/7 and 5.3 million total viewers. The season finale of "Raising Hope" at 9:30 ticked up slightly in the demo from last week for a 1.9/5 and 3.9 million total viewers.

CBS came in third in the demo and first in total viewers with an average 2.2/6 and 12.4 million, based on the strength of "NCIS," which aired at 8. It received a 3.0/9, which made it the second-highest rated show of the night, and 17.6 million total viewers, which made it the most-watched. The network's roster was filled out with repeats.

ABC took fourth place in the demo and second in total viewers with an average 1.9/5 and 8.7 million. "Last Man Standing" at 8 dropped 11 percent to a series low of 1.6/5, and had 6.4 million total viewers. "Cougar Town" at 8:30 was also down, dropping to a 1.4/4 in the demo to tie its series low. It had 4.6 million total viewers. "Dancing With the Stars" inched up from last week for a 2.4/6 and 13.7 million total viewers, while the time-period premiere of "Private Practice" at 10 took a considerable hit, dropping 19 percent from its last airing four weeks ago on a Thursday night. It hit a series low 1.7/5, and had 6.8 million total viewers.
