Ratings: ‘Voice’ Premiere Charts Higher, ‘Blacklist’ Beating ‘Hostages’ – So Far (Update)

(Update: More recent numbers are now available, and show NBC did do well Monday. Read the updated story here.)

The premiere of NBC’s “The Voice” looks to have improved over last fall’s premiere, and NBC’s “The Blacklist” seems well ahead of CBS’s somewhat similar “Hostages,” based on very preliminary numbers.

According to ratings in 56 markets nationwide, “The Voice” seems to have made solid gains on the show’s Sept. 10, 2012 premiere. Full ratings will be available soon. If the numbers hold, that would mean “The Voice” is defying a trend of music shows slipping. Fox’s “X Factor,” for example, debuted down this month from its fall 2012 premiere.

In the markets, NBC’s “Blacklist” had a significant early advantage over CBS’s “Hostages,” another new politically tinged drama that premiered Monday. Both faced off in the 10 p.m. hour, when ABC’s returning “Castle” was behind “Blacklist” but ahead of “Hostages.”

The numbers could change when fuller results are available.
