Roseanne Barr issued a mea culpa Thursday after tweeting an angry message in response to Chik-fil-A's stance against gay marriage.

"Anyone who eats S--- Fil-A deserves to get the cancer that is sure to come from eating antibiotic filled tortured chickens," the comedienne wrote on her feed Wednesday.

The comment drew the ire of some of Barr's followers and prompted her to apologize in a series of Tweets for the harsh language. "I shouldn't have used the word deserves in my tweet and I apologize," she wrote. "No one deserves cancer at all! I'm not that type of person who blames victims."

Barr isn't the only celebrity to speak out against Chik-fil-A because of the company's views on gay marriage. The Office's Ed Helms has said he plans to boycott the fast food chain. "Chick-Fil-A doesn't like gay people? So lame. Hate to think what they do to the gay chickens! Lost a loyal fan," Helms tweeted last week.
