Thinking out loud, O'Donnell said she'd make some calls and turn the home improvement into a Christmas special called "Rosie O'Donnell and Honey Boo Boo's Renovation." Though skeptical at first, O'Donnell is a fan of the controversial reality show and its seven-year-old star Alana Thompson (aka Honey Boo Boo). "I didn't know what to expect," O'Donnell said. "For the first 10 minutes, I was kinda stunned. For the second 10 minutes, I was touched. And for the last 10 minutes I thought, this is really revolutionary TV in a way most people won't understand."
Indeed, while the show is incredibly popular, not everyone is a fan. Tim Goodman of The Hollywood Reporter called the show "peculiarly reprehensible" and Variety's Brian Lowry says it is "disturbingly condescending."
