(Lights Out) and Ben Cross (Star Trek, Ben Hur) have joined the cast of Banshee, Cinemax’s upcoming 10-episode drama series from True Blood boss Alan Ball and former House executive producer Greg Yaitanes.

The project, written by authors Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, centers on Lucas (played by New Zealand thesp Antony Starr), an ex-convict and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Penn, and continues to carry out his criminal activities even as shadowy gangsters hunt him.

Shane will play Deva Hopewell, the goth-rebel teenage daughter of Lucas’ old flame Carrie (the new Charlie’s Angels‘ Ivana Milicevic) and her DA husband Gordon (Burn Notice’s Rus Blackwell). Cross, meanwhile, is Mr. Rabbit, a ruthless Ukrainian gangster who’s been hunting Lucas and Carrie for 15 years.

The cast also includes Ulrich Thomsen (The Thing), Matt Servitto (Harry’s Law), Trieste Dunn (Canterbury’s Law), Daniel Ross Owens (The Lying Game, Detroit 1-8-7) and Hoon Lee (Blue Bloods, White Collar).

Yaitanes, who’s directing the opener, will serve as an exec producer alongside Ball, Trooper, Schickler and Peter Macdissi.
