See Who Will Play Clary Fray in ABC Family's Mortal Instruments Series
Katherine McNamara has landed the role of Clary Fray in Shadowhunters, ABC Family's adaptation of Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments young adult fantasy novel series.
The show announced the news on Twitter, Wednesday.

Beautiful, creative and intelligent, Clary is a promising art student whose bright future is derailed when her mother is kidnapped and she learns that her life has been a lie. She comes from a long line of Shadowhunters - human-angel hybrids who hunt demons. As she's forced into action, with the help of the mysterious Jace and her best friend Simon, she must learn to embrace her newfound powers and realizes that she will play a central role in a new world.

McNamara previously starred in New Year's Eve and will appear in the upcoming The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. She has also starred on MTV's Happylandand will be seen in the new season of The Fosters.
Lily Collins starred as Clary in the 2013 feature film, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
