Sharon Osbourne to Take 1-Month Hiatus From ‘The Talk’ After Collapsing

Sharon Osbourne is taking one month off from co-hosting CBS’s “The Talk” after reportedly collapsing from exhaustion.

The TV personality and wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne “collapsed from mental and physical fatigue” upon returning home to Los Angeles last Friday night after a busy trip to New York and Toronto, a rep for Osbourne said in a statement to TheWrap.

“Sharon has been advised and has agreed to take a month hiatus to recover fully from these recent events,” Osbourne’s spokesperson said. “Sharon would like to thank everyone at ‘The Talk’ for granting her this time off and to all friends, family and others for their incredible support.”

Osbourne’s doctors say she is suffering from “extreme exhaustion” and believe that she returned to work too soon after being hospitalized earlier this year for pneumonia.

The 62-year-old battled colorectal cancer in 2002. Osbourne underwent a double mastectomy 10 years later after discovering she carried the gene that predisposed her to getting breast cancer.

Osbourne’s publicists and CBS’s “The Talk” show reps did not immediately respond to TheWrap‘s requests for comment on Saturday.

Over the past 24 hours, Osbourne has only tweeted photos of her with husband Ozzy and her with daughter Kelly, who filled in for Sharon on “The Talk” while the former “Fashion Police” host’s mother received treatment for pneumonia.
