Kurt Sutter is making a bloody comeback at FX!

The network has ordered 10 episodes of the Sons of Anarchy creator's new series, the provocatively titled Bastard Executioner, to premiere this fall, it was announced Friday afternoon.

Sons of Anarchy series finale: How did it all end?

In the show, which is set in the Late Middle Ages (roughly 1300-1500 AD), Aussie actor Lee Jones plays a warrior knight loyal to King Edward I who is wreck after all of his battles and wants to leave the bloodshed behind. Unfortunately, violence finds him again, and he's left with no choice but to pick up "the bloodiest sword of all," presumably to execute a bunch of people. That's one way to go Medieval on TV!

Katey Sagal, who is married to Sutter and also starred on Sons of Anarchy, and True Blood's Stephen Moyer are set to be series regulars, along with a few other notable names.

Sutter announced the show -- and helpfully introduced its hashtag -- Friday on Twitter:

Amazing TV show creator? Check. Games of Thrones-era setting? Check. Cool swordfights guaranteed? Check. Count us in!
