Sony Relaunching TriStar TV Run by Suzanne Patmore Gibbs
Sony Pictures Television is relaunching its Tristar Television banner, and has tapped Suzanne Patmore Gibbs to run the company, an individual with knowledge of the negotiations told TheWrap Thursday.
Patmore Gibbs would segue to the position after a three-year stint as Executive Vice President of Drama Development at Sony TV, and would continue to report to Sony’s Presidents of Programming and Production Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg.
Tristar TV would develop and produce a small number of projects, including “The Good Girls Revolt,” and a “Mad Men”-esque drama set at Newsweek in the 1970s. Amazon picked up the pilot earlier this month.

Launched in 1986, TriStar TV was shuttered in 2002, with the company folded into Sony Pictures Television. Its famous series include “Forever Knight,” “Mad About You” and “Early Edition.”
Patmore Gibbs was responsible for such hits as “The Blacklist” and “Outlander” while at her Sony TV post. Before Sony, she was the EVP of scripted programming at ABC Entertainment Group, where she oversaw “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “Once Upon a Time.”
