Sources: Bulls show interest in Dwyane Wade

The Chicago Bulls are interested in discussing a deal with free-agent guard Dwyane Wade, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The crumbling of the Miami Heat's Big Three on Friday leaves Wade facing a future without LeBron James and possibly Chris Bosh in Miami, and a Heat franchise facing a rebuilding situation again. The Heat, however, are trying to re-sign Bosh and Wade.

Wade, 32, opted out of the $42 million left on his contract so the Heat could restructure deals with James and Bosh – only to have James leave him for Cleveland. Miami's loyalty to Wade would likely compel it to give him a contract extension because of his team-first decision to opt out of the deal. Nevertheless, Wade makes little sense for the Heat moving forward, except that he's a franchise icon who's been part of three championships.

Wade grew up in Chicago, and took a meeting in 2010 free agency with the Bulls. Knee problems have limited him the past two years, and the uncertainty about his future may have played some part in James' decision to join a younger core in Cleveland.

The Bulls are discussing a deal with free-agent guard Kirk Hinrich too, trying to hold off Charlotte, sources said.
