Streamy Awards to Air on VH1 in September

The Streamy Awards are coming to the quaint ol’ media platform of television.

For the first time, the Streamys will be broadcast on TV, in September when The 5th Annual Streamy Awards will air on VH1.

The ceremony, which annually honors the best in online video and the creators behind it, will transmit live on VH1 and its digital platforms Sept. 17 at 10 p.m. ET, with a delayed viewing for the Pacific time zone.

This year’s show takes place at the Hollywood Palladium. VH1 is partnering with Dick Clark Productions and Tubefilter for the broadcast.

“The VH1 audience is connected on every platform. So it’s a natural for VH1 to celebrate the innovators who, like us, entertain literally millions of viewers,” VH1 president Tom Calderone said. “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Dick Clark Productions and Tubefilter on amplifying all of the amazing creativity of the past year by presenting the Streamy Awards for the first time ever on television.”
