Syfy to Pay Tribute to Leonard Nimoy with Special Programming Block
Syfy will air a five-hour programming block on March 1 to honor Leonard Nimoy, the cable channel announced Friday.
From 9AM-2PM (ET/PT), Syfy will air some of Nimoy’s classic roles, such as his appearance on the original “Twilight Zone” and his guest role on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”
It will also show “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country,” the 1991 feature that marked the final group appearance of the original “Star Trek” cast.

Nimoy was best known for his role as Mr. Spock, the Vulcan first officer on the iconic sci-fi series “Star Trek.” He reprised the role in a series of films with the series’ original cast, as well as making appearances in the rebooted franchise from J.J. Abrams, in which Zachary Quinto played the young Spock.
Nimoy passed away early Friday after being admitted to the UCLA Medical Center for chest pains last week. He revealed in January that he had been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which he attributed to a smoking habit he had kicked 30 years earlier.
