T.I. and wife Tiny have six children (their family life is chronicled on VH1's reality show, "T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle") and in an interview on Wednesday's Access Hollywood Live, they chatted about the difficulties of raising their kids in a wealthy environment.

"They have a lot going on that we didn't get a chance to do," Tiny told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover.

"[They're] privileged - damn rich kids!" T.I. joked. "Sometimes I'm proud that we're able to afford them a life that we weren't fortunate enough to have as kids. In another way, I would like them to experience a little struggle and adversity, because it builds character."

T.I. also opened up about his friend Lil Wayne's recent health scare.

(In mid-March, TMZ reported the rapper was in critical condition and in a medically-induced coma following a rash of seizures. Lil Wayne has since admitted he does suffer from seizures, but is on the mend.)

"I think it was some dehydration and fatigue," T.I. said, when asked what really went down with Lil Wayne. "I'm not a doctor -- I know I saw him and he's fine. That's all I know and that's all I care about."

T.I., who recently collaborated with Pharrell Williams for Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" and will tour with Lil Wayne this summer, said he was upset by claims Lil Wayne was near death.

"His daughter is very, very close with my daughter and our families are so closely connected and we know each other personally-- it's just I know the pain that goes through the mind of a mother or child when things like that are falsely reported," he explained. "I was upset about that... that kind of pain and turmoil."

"T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle," returns with the Season 3 premiere on April 8 at 10/9c on VH1.
