Taraji P. Henson has apologized to the police officers that she accused of racially profiling her son during a traffic stop last year.

During an interview with Uptown Magazine last month, the Empire star said her son, Marcell Johnson, 20, was racially profiled in Glendale, Calif., and at the University of Southern California.

However, the Glendale Police Department have now released the dash cam video of Johnson's traffic stop, which contradicts his claims of racial profiling. In the footage, taken Oct. 18, Johnson is seen being pulled over for failing to yield to a pedestrian at a cross walk. He admitted to possessing marijuana and Ritalin without a prescription and agreed to have the vehicle searched. Instead of receiving a citation for the original infraction, which would affect his driving record, the officer only cited Johnson for possessing marijuana.

"A mother's job is not easy and neither is a police officer's," Henson wrote on Instagram. "Sometimes as humans we overreact without gathering all of the facts. As a mother in this case I overreacted and for that I apologize. Thank you to that officer for being kind to my son."
