Between courses of turkey and pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving, plenty to choose from in terms of entertainment.

From the traditional Macy’s Thanksgiving parade to buzzy new additions like “Jessica Jones,” from James Bond to the Simpsons, there’s all sorts of characters to spend hours upon hours with when you need a little or a big break from your family.

James Bond marathonSyfy

United Artists, MGM/Columbia Pictures

Starting at 6:30 a.m. ET, Syfy will air Sean Connery‘s “Dr. No,” followed by every Bond movie up to Daniel Craig‘s “Quantum of Solace.”

“Godfather I & II” marathon–AMC

Paramount Pictures

Starting at 11:30 a.m. ET, AMC will air “The Godfather” and “The Godfather II” back to back all the way into the wee hours of Friday morning.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade — CBS & NBC

Starting at 9 a.m. ET, NBC and CBS will both cover the 89th annual Macy’s Day Parade live from New York City. It will feature performances by the casts of “Jersey Boys” and “Beautiful.”

National Dog Show–NBC

Starting at 12 p.m. ET, the 14th annual National Dog Show will return to NBC with hosts John O’Hurley and David Frei.

“The Simpsons” marathon–FXX

Starting at 4 p.m. ET, FXX will air the best holiday-themed episode of “The Simpsons.” Relax with America’s favorite yellow family as the turkey sleepiness kicks in.

“Star Trek: The Next Generation” marathon–BBCA

Starting at 6 a.m. ET, BBC America will air back to back episodes from season one of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” Travel the galaxy with the Enterprise crew

Discovery Channel
