Tom Brokaw tweeted that "all is well" after he was taken to a Charlotte, N.C.-area hospital this morning because he felt ill on the set of MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

"All is well. Early AM I mistakenly took a half dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual. Made a better comeback than Giants..." he wrote.

Brokaw, the 72-year-old former anchor of NBC Nightly News, was in Charlotte to cover the Democratic National Convention. He was expected to be released from the hospital soon, NBC News said.
