Tom Brokaw: 'All Is Well' as He's Released From Hospital (Update)

Tom Brokaw tweeted that "all is well" after he was taken to a Charlotte, N.C.-area hospital this morning because he felt ill on the set of MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

"All is well. Early AM I mistakenly took a half dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual. Made a better comeback than Giants..." he wrote.

Brokaw, the 72-year-old former anchor of NBC Nightly News, was in Charlotte to cover the Democratic National Convention. He was expected to be released from the hospital soon, NBC News said.

NBC News President Steve Capus said in a statement: "On the set of 'Morning Joe' this morning, Tom Brokaw felt light-headed. Out of an abundance of caution, he was taken to a hospital. He is being evaluated, is in good spirits, and is expected to be released shortly."

No additional update on his condition was immediately available.
