The Arrested Development fave has landed a guest spot in The Good Wife‘s Sept. 29 premiere (CBS, Sept. 29), HuffPost TV reports. He’ll play a judge ruling over a case involving the death penalty.

Tambor joins a group of previously announced Season 5 players, including Ben Rappaport (Outsourced) and Melissa George (Alias).

Doctor Who vet/Torchwood star John Barrowman is offering up his take on who should next portray TV’s Time Lord. “The character of River Song was so popular in the last part of the series and it was such an impact, why shouldn’t we have a female doctor?” the actor opined to ITV’s Daybreak. “Give it a whirl, if it doesn’t work… she can always regenerate back to a man — I’ve been there; I’ve watched them do it.”
