Valerie Harper has shut down the rumor mill surrounding her recent hospitalization.

"My dear friends and fans! As always, thank you for your amazing support," Harper wrote on Facebook. "I am happy to report I am not, nor have I been, in a coma."

The actress was taken to the hospital on Wednesday because she wasn't feeling well before the scheduled performance of Nice Work If You Can Get It in Maine. Harper, who previously battled lung cancer and was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2013, downplayed the hospitalization as the result of taking "strong medication."

"As anyone who has taken strong medication knows, it doesn't always agree with you, even with me as this experience proves," Harper, 75, continued. "I am confronting these hurdles with my usual enthusiasm and love of life."

The actress even managed to find quite the silver lining in the scary experience. "But I must confess," she added, "that the highlight of this ordeal came when I was escorted by two handsome young men and a pilot, in a medivac helicopter as the full moon lit the sky. Talk about movie magic!"
