After months of build-up and anticipation, The Vampire Diaries' proposed spinoff, The Originals, has finally aired. Were you excited or disappointed?

The Originals sent Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to the French Quarter in New Orleans, a town he helped build centuries ago, after receiving an ominous letter from Katherine (Nina Dobrev) following the events of the Mystic Falls prom. Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) also found their way into the crux of the story.

Viewers were introduced to his former protege Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), and fellow newbies Sophie (Daniella Pineda), Camille (Leah Pipes) and Davina (Danielle Campbell).

In January, The CW moved forward with a backdoor pilot centered on the Original family, who were first seen in season two of The Vampire Diaries and have been pivotal to the series' central mythology. The offshoot is the latest in a string of spinoffs being eyed by various networks this season, including CBS (NCIS: LA's NCIS: Red), ABC (Once Upon a Time's Alice in Wonderland project), ABC Family (Pretty Little Liars' Ravenswood) and NBC (Chicago Fire's Chicago-set police procedural).

As The CW reviews its pilots and decides the fates of bubble series like The Carrie Diaries, Nikita and Hart of Dixie (the network expects to make official decisions ahead of its upfront in mid-May), THR wants to know what you thought of "The Originals" episode: Was there enough for The Originals to stand on its own as a new show?
