“The View” co-host Michelle Collins thinks Donald Trump is taking his strategy straight out of “The Game” by Neil Strauss.

“You know if you’re at a bar and a guy comes up and insults you, it’s called negging,” Collins said. “When he insults you, you think he must have something great going on.”

Negging is a term used in the pick-up artist community, in which a man will give a woman a backhanded compliment in a way that undermines her confidence. The idea is that she will subconsciously seek his approval from then on.

“The more negative stuff he says, the more he makes us feel terrible about our country and races and people with disabilities, in a weird way I think a lot of people are drawn to him,” Collins continued. “It seems to be working and I don’t understand why but it comes from a self-hatred, I think.”

Fellow co-host Joy Behar also lamented the fact that very few of those campaigning for the White House seem up to the task of running a country.

“Can you picture any of these people who are running so far — well, maybe one or two — in the climate change meetings that they’re having?” Behar said. “You need somebody with heft over there. This is a complicated world. This is what frightens me about people who are not giving the information out there that’s correct.”
