WATCH: ‘Downton Abbey’ Season 5 Teaser

As the U.K. premiere of the fifth season of “Downton Abbey” draws near, ITV has released a 20-second teaser narrated by Downton’s butler, Carson (Jim Carter).

Last season of the British period drama ended with the widowed Lady Mary Crawley (Michelle Dockery) choosing between two suitors and her sister, Lady Edith, dealing with personal matters of her own, and the teaser only hints at what may be on the horizon.

“I feel a shaking of the ground I stand on,” Carson says.

Based on these brief words, it sounds like a big change may be coming to Downton — and one that is bound to shake things up for the Crawley family.

Season five of “Downton Abbey” bows in the UK in the fall, with a PBS stateside airdate yet to be announced.
