Rare Early Footage of Ray Romano

Prime Time In No Time Videos
PBS's "Pioneers of Television" featured the great stand-up comedians who transitioned to sitcoms, and the Raymond everybody loves showed us that it's not easy starting out in the comedy biz. After Romano's first and second attempts at stand-up went so poorly, 20-something Raymond actually quit comedy and started to study accounting while living in his mother's basement. But Romano persevered, and as the old footage proves, the young man had talent that would take him all the way to TV immortality. Ray did say that old bits he used to do, like impressions and wearing goofy hats, are gone from his act for good. Thank goodness we have the video so they can last forever on the internet.
